Illawarra Sports High is one of 7 sports high schools and 4 Sydney FC schools in NSW. They offer a sports program for talented athletes and those students who wish to combine their education with their passion for sport. The Talented Sports and Development Program (TSDP) provides students with an opportunity to attain their optimum potential in their chosen sport while at the same time completing their education. Students have the educational support and sporting opportunities not available in a normal comprehensive high school.
Illawarra Sports High School Talented Football program runs two strands. Sydney FC Academy for advanced players and Football South Coast for development athletes. Outstanding young Footballers are offered the opportunity to complete their secondary education in a strong supportive and flexible environment. ISHS has a strong academic and sporting tradition, a reputation for innovative teaching practices and a staff committed to encouraging personal excellence.
We are inviting all current year 6 footballers currently registered in a community club or representative team to attend the year 6 trial at Illawarra Sports High school on Thursday 29th April, 2021.

Enrolment in the Talented Sports and Development Program at Illawarra Sports High School is a three step process.
Phase 1. Sporting Ability:
- Attend trials to gain provisional acceptance into the Talented Sports and Development Program. Success at trials does not guarantee enrolment in 2022 at Illawarra Sports High School. Students must still meet the school welfare requirements.
Phase 2. School Welfare Record:
- Primary schools will be asked to provide a reference for the students accepted into the Sports Program based upon welfare, behaviour and classwork. The selection panel will then decide if the student will be accepted into Illawarra Sports High School.
Phase 3. Department of Education Enrolment:
- Normal DEC school enrolment procedures still apply to TSDP students and a further enrolment package will be posted home. A student accepted into TSDP is still required to complete all DEC forms and provide necessary documents to the school.
