The 2019 Bert Bampton Cup winners Bulli progressed through to the final four of this year’s tournament with a 4-1 defeat of Cringila last Tuesday.
Up-and-coming forward Nick High put the Lions ahead at Crehan Park, before Bulli rookie Deakin Brownlee netted his maiden first-grade goal to have the sides all square going into half time.
Bulli ran away with the tie in the second half with Kyle Jackson and Nick Littler getting on the scoresheet before Brownlee rounded out the match with his second goal 12 minutes from time.
Elsewhere on Tuesday night, the Albion Park White Eagles and Port Kembla managed to secure spots in the quarter-finals.
The White Eagles had a comfortable win over their arch-rivals South Coast with Hamish Lamberton and Mitchell Cooper both scoring before the hour mark.
Goal-scoring gun Cameron Morgan came off the bench in the second half to net his side’s third in the 3-0 victory.
Port Kembla got the better of Coniston in a tight affair at Wetherall Park with midfielder Alex Pappas bagging a first-half brace.
Ekoue D’Almeida pulled a goal back for Rob Jonovski’s side but it wouldn’t be enough to stop Port from reaching the next round.
In the Youth Cup, the final District League side bowed out with Oak Flats going down 5-1 to Albion Park with Conor McLean scoring a hat-trick.
Bulli and Corrimal had 2-1 wins over Port and Woonona respectively while yesterday afternoon Cup holders Wollongong United beat last year’s finalists Coniston 3-0.
The draw for the semi-finals will take place at Football South Coast on Wednesday.
