Woonona Sharks FC-0, Coniston FC-2 @Ocean Park
Coniston’s double was enough to settle the tie as they walked away with the three points.
Just after the half-hour mark, Ahlyra Ward got on the end of a chance and put the ball past the keeper to make it the first goal of the game in the 31st minute.
Twenty minutes into the second half, Coniston extended their lead with a second goal of the match as Elena Miccoli picked her spot and put it home, making it 2-0 in the 65th minute.
Woonona attempted to get a goal back, but it never came as they had to settle for a defeat at home.
The Sharks can put pressure on fourth-place Shoalhaven as they travel away to compete against Bulli.
Coniston will have to put all focus into their next round as they contest against Shellharbour. Coniston have the home advantage, so a chance of an upset could be on the table in this game.
Shellharbour City FC-4, Shoalhaven FC-0 @Myimbarr Park
Shellharbour do the double over Shoalhaven as they put four goals past them again.
Kari Gonzalez has made a habit of scoring from midfield, and this match is no different as she opened the scoring in the 25th minute.
City threatened Shoalhaven’s goal again, with Samara Wehmeyer breaking her two-game goal drought with a goal in the 60th minute.
Wehmeyer did not wait too long for the next goal, as the attacking midfielder found the net two minutes after her first to make it 3 to the good for her side.
The game remained at 3-0 with Shoalhaven desperate to decrease the deficit in the latter stages of the match.
City ended up putting the game to a close in the 90th minute, with Kristy Rohrer putting her name late on the score sheet to make it four for Shellharbour.
In the next round, Coniston is in Shellharbour’s sights; they will have to take the third-place team away from home.
Shoalhaven have another difficult match, in this case against University of Wollongong; however, they have the home advantage on their side.
University of Wollongong FC-4, Bulli FC-0 @Kooloobong Oval
Bulli conceded early in the first 20 minutes as University welcomed their visitors with a goal by Halle Callow in the 16th minute.
In the 38th minute, Wollongong added another to the score, this time by Amy Morrell, who joined the scoresheet.
Morrell capitalised on the momentum she got from her first and got her second of the match to make it a double. 3-0 for the hosts in the 66th minute.
Zahalia Middleton, who scored the equaliser for University in their previous match, scored again in this game. She put it past the keeper to make it four to the good in the 75th minute.
The home side maintained their clean sheet as well, and they finished the match 4-0.
A battle between second and fourth place as the University travels far for their next game, which is against Shoalhaven.
A victory for Shoalhaven will close the gap to two points between the two sides, so Wollongong have everything to play for in this match.
Bulli versus Woonona on away soil, the Sharks will look to overturn their recent defeats with a triumph at home.
