New Level 4 Referee Courses – 2024

Football South Coast is excited to announce the commencement our new Level 4 Referee courses at the beginning of 2024. The course has undergone an update, and the theory component is now conveniently available online through the Etrainu platform. After completing the online sector, you will need to attend one of our practical sessions outlined below.

Requirements for New Referees: All new referees must:

1. Register via Playfootball for the practical flags and whistles session – This will appear as a New Level 4 Referee Package ($150) Please note you must register via Playfootball before completing any online practical’s on Etrainu**

2. Join the event ‘ FSC New Level 4 Referee – Course 5’ event on Etrainu – This is to ensure you are signed off for all online modules.

3. Complete the free online Laws of the Game modules via Etrainu.

4. Fulfill the online Level 4 Theory aspect (known as the Community Junior Football Match Officials course) via Etrainu, with a fee of $33. (please note you must register via Play football to gain access to the course material Theory) – Etrainu – Level 4 Theory course! CLICK HERE

5. Attend the practical Flags and Whistles Session.

Course Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 13 years old as of 1st May. Unfortunately, individuals not yet 13 at the time of completing the course cannot be accepted.
  • Participants must complete the online Etrainu Level 4 theory before attending the practical course. Confirm completion by emailing referees@footballsouthcoast.com.

Important Note: Once the online theory portion is completed, attendance at one of the specified practical courses is mandatory to become a qualified referee.

Practical Component Details:

  • Wear appropriate clothing (boots not needed). In case of wet weather, the course will proceed indoors.
  • Equipment (flags, cards, and whistle) and referee uniform will be provided during the practical session.

Course Gear & Uniforms:

All new Level 4 Referees will receive their flags, cards and whistle on the night of the course, you will need these for the practical component of the course. You will also receive your compulsory, Legea referee uniform (short sleeve shirt, shorts and socks) at this time.

Our supplier, Legea, offer Men’s shirt/shorts size: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL,3XL. A size guide is available HERE. Please note our shirt sizes do run small, we would recommend sizing up*

Socks sizes: 1 = kids shoe size 9-1, 2 = men’s shoe size 2-8, 3 = men’s shoe size 7-12.
