Bulli make the dream work again as they hold their ground and draw against University to make it four games unbeaten in a row.
Wollongong started the game with a goal on their minds, as in the first twelve minutes, Rhianna Brown opened the scoring to put University a goal up.
It looked like Bulli were going to be out of the game early as University looked to dominate the game.
Bulli, however, disrupted the visitors’ momentum with a goal back bagged by Camille Augustyn.
Levelled already just under the half-hour mark.
The score remained the same heading into the sheds for the half-time team talk.
For the second half, Bulli went toe to toe with the second-placed team, and it almost looked like a winner would be scored, but chances went by from both sides.
Late substitutions were made by Bulli in hopes of scoring a late winner, but University held their ground and were ready for Bulli’s change in tactics.
The game was signalled to be over by the referee’s whistle, with both teams sharing a point in a 1-1 draw.
Bulli can extend their run against Woonona away at home.
With a win against first place and a draw against second place, Bulli are worthy contenders for any match with this form.
University host Shoalhaven; a victory against third would submit their place in second to finish off the regular season.
Coniston FC-0, Woonona Sharks FC-6 @JJ Kelly Park
Woonona crush Coniston’s last opportunity to break into the top four with a high-scoring result, scoring 6 past their hosts.
Jessica Beale broke the tension early with her finish in the 15th minute.
Fiona Leafe came four minutes later to score, putting the Sharks two goals up.
Jordan Wheatley threaded the needle to finish the first half with three goals to the visiting side.
Coniston fought back to prevent any more attacks coming their way as they kept Woonona out past the hour mark.
They couldn’t, however, get through their opponent to find a lifeline in this match.
In seven minutes, the Sharks ran rampant again with a barrage of goals.
In the 80th minute, Paige Hirst bagged in her effort to make it four.
Five minutes afterwards, Grace Grant poked in another for her side.
Wheatley couldn’t resist ending the game with one goal, so she nudged in her chance to make it a brace in the 87th minute.
Six goals for Woonona while Coniston finish off with zero; the visiting side take the three points in this game.

Bulli are heavy contenders with their recent string of performances, so Woonona will need to stay wary in their next match.
Shellharbour City FC-2, Shoalhaven FC-0 @Myimbarr Park
Shellharbour return with a win, with two goals being enough to get past Shoalhaven.
City were on high alert for this match as they had an unpredictable loss against last-place Bulli, which broke their unbeaten record of at least 17 matches.
A win was a must so they could end off the season on a high, but also to get back into form just before finals.
Shoalhaven also wanted a win after losing out to Bulli’s impressive run as well.
In the 33rd minute, Samara Wehmeyer was the first name on the scoresheet as she powered through with a goal.
The host went up in front.
City came again late in the first half to make life difficult for their visitors as Sofia Mieli finished a chance to make it 2-0 in the 45th minute.
The home side’s performance in the first half was all that they needed, as the second half saw both teams unable to capitalise on their chances in front of goal.
For this match, the three points went to the league leaders, Shellharbour.

An away fixture against University of Wollongong is next lined up for Shoalhaven.
