FLARE Female Development Program – Please note this program will only be held at Kembla Grange for Term 4

Registrations for Term 4 2024 are OPEN!

The weekly program is designed to support the development of our Association female players under the guidance of qualified FSC coaching staff, whilst maintaining their club commitments.

Ages: 5-12yrs (The girls will be split into the groups based on age & ability)

10 week program – $200 per participant

TERM 4: WK COMMENCING MONDAY 14TH OCTOBER -WK ENDING FRIDAY 19TH DECEMBER

Day: THURSDAY

Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm

The program will focus on the 4 core skills:

First Touch – Attack

  • Controls the ball with all allowed body parts to maintain possession

First Touch – Defence

  • Applies immediate pressure on ball carrier

1v1 Attacking

  • Change in direction
  • Fakes and Feints
  • Stop/Start

1v1 Defending

  • Win the 1v1 duel and retain possession

Striking the Ball – Attack

  • Consistent short range, forward passes to feet
  • Ability to play long distance pass to feet
  • Shooting
  • Crossing
  • Heading

Striking the Ball – Defence (includes player actions such as)

  • Delaying
  • Interception
  • Tackling
  • Blocking Shots

Running with the Ball

  • Travelling at speed into space
  • Identifying space in which to run the ball into at pace
  • Running with the ball at pace to commit a defender

In addition to technical development, the program will provide an environment for the player to develop the following characteristics essential to improving as a footballer:

  • Communicates with team mates
  • High levels of work ethic
  • Desire to defend and attack
  • Performs under pressure
  • Emotional control
  • Attentive to coaches instructions
  • Shows respect to players and coaches
