Flare Football Girls Development Program 2025 – Term 1
We are excited to announce the return of our Flare Football Girls Only Development Program in Term 1, 2025!
This weekly program is tailored to support the growth of our association’s female players. Under the guidance of qualified FSC coaching staff, participants will enhance their skills while continuing to fulfill their club commitments.
Ages: 5–12 years (Players will be grouped by age and ability.)

Program Focus Areas
Our program emphasizes four core skill areas essential to football development:
1. First Touch
- Attack: Controlling the ball with all allowed body parts to maintain possession.
- Defence: Applying immediate pressure to the ball carrier.
2. 1v1 Play
- Attacking:
- Changes in direction.
- Fakes, feints, and stop/start movements.
- Defending:
- Winning 1v1 duels and retaining possession.
3. Striking the Ball
- Attack:
- Accurate short-range passing.
- Long-distance passing to feet.
- Shooting, crossing, and heading.
- Defence:
- Delaying, intercepting, tackling, and blocking shots.
4. Running with the Ball
- Travelling at speed into open space.
- Identifying and exploiting space while on the move.
- Running at pace to commit defenders.
Player Development
In addition to technical skills, players will cultivate the following traits essential for growth in football:
- Effective communication with teammates.
- High work ethic and dedication.
- A strong desire to defend and attack.
- The ability to perform under pressure.
- Emotional control during play.
- Attentiveness to coaching instructions.
- Respect for fellow players and coaches.
