PETER WEBSTER CUP PREVIEW

Untitled-1

More than six months after the first game was played, the 2022 Peter Webster Cup will finally reach its conclusion on Wednesday night with the All Age and Masters finals to be played at Ian McLennan Park.

The action kicks off at 6pm with Coledale Waves and Northern FC battling for the right to win the second Masters edition of the Peter Webster Cup.

Coledale has been unstoppable in the RMB Lawyers Division 1 Masters competition this season, winning all 13 of its matches to secure the League Championship with three rounds still to play.

The Waves defeated Albion Park 18-0, Gibson Park 7-0 and Figtree Blaze 14-0 on their way to reaching the final.

Northern FC will fancy their chances of handing Coledale its first defeat of the season.

The Quails currently sit third in the RMB Lawyers Division 1 Masters competition and have struggled to keep pace with Coledale this year due to a heavy injury toll.

In the All Age Final, Dandaloo will be seeking to retain the Peter Webster Cup with victory over Hill Top.

This will be the biggest fixture for the Kookaburras since joining the RMB Lawyers All Age 1 competition last year.

Hill Top has provided the biggest threat to Gerringong in the league this season and will be confident of claiming their first piece of Football South Coast silverware.

The two sides have met twice this season with the Lions winning the first meeting 2-nil before the Kookaburras claimed an emphatic 5-2 victory in the return fixture at Boronia Park last month.

Entry to both matches at Ian McLennan Park is free with Peter Webster to present the trophy to the winning teams.
