Albion Park White Eagles will face University FC in the inaugural final of the Julie Porter Cup this Wednesday evening at Terry Reserve.
Back in early July, League Champions APWE grabbed the first semi-final victory for the day defeating the Woonona Sharks 3-0. The second semi-final kicked off not long after, with the Unicorns comfortably taking home a 4-1 win over the Shellharbour Scorpions.
Two of the strongest teams in the League, Albion Park White Eagles and University FC will again go head-to-head in what will certainly be a goal scoring action-packed thriller.
It’s not the first time both sides have met each other in a final and to say we are expecting two strong squads to walk out on the pitch on Wednesday evening would be an understatement.
Albion Park White Eagles
Winning the Women’s Division One League for seven consecutive seasons, APWE will walk out on their home turf this Wednesday night leaving nothing left behind.
Captain Brittany Ring will lead her team out and will cause havoc from the first whistle alongside forward Eliza Cowan who is currently the leading goal scorer for the league.
Be sure to keep a close eye out for both Michelle Foscarini and Casey Suttle as we can expect an outstanding performance from both key players in the middle of the pitch.
University FC
A dominant side and Bonnie Lassie Cup winners for two consecutive years, the Unicorns have proved to be one of the strongest teams in the Women’s Division 1 League.
Elise Battin will wear the captains arm band in Wednesday night’s fixture and will link up well in the midfield with young gun Rilee Wagner.
An experienced Ashleigh Long will hold nothing back leading her backline into the Julie Porter Cup Final, whilst we can expect an a-class performance from Tahlia Petrovski who sits in the top three goal scorers for the 2022 WD1 season.
