Both teams entered the clash with title aspirations, with Coniston sitting in fourth and Albion Park in third. The hosts made a promising start when Josh O’Hanlon linked up with Temma Nomura, whose mazy run and shot forced a smart save from Eagles keeper Cristofer Fuentes. Moments later, O’Hanlon went close again, firing just wide.

But the Eagles responded in style. In the 8th minute, Soshi Kawaguchi stepped up for a free kick and curled in a sensational effort into the top right corner, leaving Coniston’s Jair Fernandez rooted to the spot.

From there, the visitors seized control. They pressed relentlessly, dominated possession, and moved the ball with confidence. In the 29th minute, a sharp passing exchange between Jayden Makowski, Kawaguchi, and Riku Amakawa ended with Amakawa slotting home the Eagles’ second.

Just five minutes later, Makowski added a third with a cool finish, capping off another fluid move. The White Eagles weren’t done, Amakawa struck again in the 38th minute after a sweeping counterattack, notching his second and the team’s fourth goal of the first half.

Coniston looked rattled but managed to claw one back before the break. A corner from John Martinoski found skipper Daniel Loe, who powered a header into the net to give the home side a glimmer of hope.

Coniston returned from the break with renewed urgency, piling forward in search of a comeback. Martinoski remained at the heart of everything, creating chances and testing the visitors with set pieces. He was finally rewarded in the 78th minute with a stunning curled free kick to make it 4–2.

Despite the momentum swing, Albion Park defended resolutely. Fuentes made key saves throughout the second half, including a strong diving effort to deny Martinoski late on.

Albion Park remained a threat on the counter. In the 74th minute, Fuentes delivered a long ball to Amakawa, who showed excellent control and fired on goal, only to be denied by Fernandez.

Moments later, Kawaguchi delivered a pinpoint cross to Makowski, whose volley was also saved.

Coniston’s attacking pressure increased in the closing stages, with Daniel Stern, Hassan Abudareb, and O’Hanlon joining the push forward. However, Albion Park’s backline, led by Jack Keating and James Baldacchino, remained composed and saw the match out.

The White Eagles’ ruthless first-half display proved the difference, as they collected three crucial points and tightened their grip in the title race.
