Woonona Sharks FC-9, Figtree FC-0 @Ocean Park
The Sharks purge Figtree with nine goals at home.
In the 36th minute, the Sharks ripped into the Figtree defence to open the floodgates, with Evan Thomas netting the first of the game.
Thomas added another to his tally in the 43rd minute to put them in front by two.
Kane Osgood, with no mercy, bagged in a goal minutes before the half-time whistle.
In the second half, Thomas Menton joined in on the goals with his effort, making it four to the good in the 52nd minute.
In the 71st minute, Ian Hollis came to make it five.
Eight minutes later, Woonona found more energy and desire with four netted finishes by the Sharks in a row.
Emerson Peardon fired it into the net in the 79th minute, with Hayden Southall also finding the net two minutes later.
Osgood put his name twice on the scoresheet as he finished his chance off in the 83rd minute.
Not long after, Pearson completed his brace as well, two goals for the substitution, as his goal in the 85th minute made it 9-0 to the hosts.
Woonona will have to remain patient in their hunt for the top four as they have a bye in the next round.
Figtree play at home in their next fixture, but have a heavy challenge with third-place, Coledale Waves.
Albion Park FC-4, Highlands FC-2 @Terry Reserve
Highlands stumped by a surprise defeat at the hands of Albion Park.
Toby Learmont shocked the visitors with his opening goal in the 19th minute to put Albion Park ahead.
Albion Park doubled their lead with Conor O’Sullivan putting his name on the score sheet.
To give more dread to the visitors, Matthew Cignarella punished them with a minute to spare before half-time to make it 3-0 to the home side.
Highlands went all-in guns blazing as Ross Graham made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute.
The momentum was all shifted in the Highlands’ favour as Keegan Rea fired his shot into the back of the net.
Both sides were only separated by one goal, but Conor Edenden made his chance count as he scored in the 75th minute to extend the margin for Albion Park.
The visitors could not reply, as they were kept out for the remainder of the game.
Albion Park has an opportunity to make it two wins in a row with their match against Corrimal away.
Highlands will need to find their form fast, as they face Warilla, who sit in second by only two points.
A win for Highlands can turn their fortunes around in their favour again.
Coledale Waves JFC-9, Corrimal Rangers FC-0 @St. James Park
Coledale devastated Corrimal with their overwhelming attacking display, nine to the good.
The waves welcome Corrimal with a goal in just 10 minutes, scored by Eduardo Bateman.
Bateman answered again with a netted finish in the 24th minute.
After half-time, Bateman doesn’t give Corrimal any breathing room, as he put in his third to make it a hat-trick in the 51st minute.
Three minutes later, Archie Tobin-Coldwell waited for no invitation and scored his first goal of the game to make it 4-0.
Tobin-Coldwell made it a brace in two minutes after his first.
The waves continued their purge with a goal by Thomas Spargo in the 73rd minute to make it 6 to the good for Coledale.
Ryan Empson joined in on the action in the 78th minute, and later added two more goals to his tally to make it a second-half hat-trick.
His two goals came in the 81st and 85th minutes, respectively.
A hat-trick for both Empson and Bateman on the day.
Coledale goes into their next game in the third round of the Bert Bampton cup against Premier League 1 side, Wollongong Olympic.
The Waves will need all the luck that they can get to get past Olympic.
As for Corrimal, they take on Albion Park at home, with their opponent eager to make it two wins in a row after their shock victory against Highlands.
Warilla Wanderers FC-0, Shellharbour City FC-1 @King Mickey Park
A big game decider for first place in the table ends with Shellharbour victorious by one goal.
Both teams came into the match intending to score early in the game to put themselves in the driving seat.
Shellharbour was the one to make this happen with a converted chance by Cassander Grujevski in the 21st minute to put his side into the lead early.
Warilla desperately tried to find a way back into the game with an equaliser for the rest of the game.
City, holding on only by a thread, was able to end the game 1-0 in their favour.
Three points for the visitors.
Warilla have yet another tough fixture awaiting them with Highlands away from home.
Everything is on the line to stay in the second spot as Warilla is on their heels, with only two points to separate the two teams
Shellharbour versus Bellambi at home, who sit in fourth, both teams have the ambition to get a victory, with Bellambi hoping to close the gap.
