Coniston FC-1, Woonona Sharks FC-3 @JJ Kelly Park

Woonona get back to winning ways as they get a much-needed victory to put them back in third.

Danielle Blackett put the Sharks in control of the game with her netted effort in the 13th minute.

Coniston replied before the half-hour mark, with Tara Cannon scoring the equaliser for her side.

Blackett fired back in response with her shot going in the back of the net in the first minute of the second half, a brace for herself.

Woonona were able to keep the home side at bay as Coniston struggled to draw level again.

The away side pushed for the third of the game, and it came in the form of an own goal by Emilia Mason in the 80th minute.

The Sharks’ attacking display proved efficient with three goals for the visitors and one goal for Coniston.

Coniston have the opportunity to get back into winning form with a home game against Bulli, who sit at the bottom of the table.

For Woonona’s match, they will aim to defend their spot as they face Shoalhaven, who only trail by two points, with also a game in hand.

Shellharbour City FC-4, Shoalhaven FC-0 @Myimbarr Park

Shoalhaven couldn’t keep out Shellharbour as they ran riot with four.

In the 16th minute, Sofia Mieli crossed the ball into the box, the keeper parried the ball away, but not far enough as Kristina Janeska from the edge of the box unleashed a half-volley.

The shot took a deflection and wrong-footed the goalkeeper.

Janeska had another goal attempt, this time her effort struck the crossbar. Mia Riza then got onto the rebound and knocked it in to make it 2-0 in the 26th minute.

Just over a minute into the second-half, Samara Wehmeyer took the ball herself and used her pace to get into the clear in the box, where she slotted the ball near post.

Sami Wilkie tried to put Shoalhaven a goal up, but her chances went wide.

In the dying stages, Wehmeyer tapped in from close range to complete the scoring.

She completed her brace in the 88th minute.

The league leaders are up against the University of Wollongong at home; it will be another battle between the two top sides in the league.

Shoalhaven find themselves in a high-tension fixture with Woonona away, both separated by two points.

Bulli almost caused a shock result with all goals coming late in the game for University.

In the 19th minute, Zahalia Middleton was sent through, but her pace wasn’t enough as the keeper got to the ball first and collected it.

Under 5 minutes before the half-time whistle sounded, Amy Morrell picked out Sian McGavock with a lobbed ball to the edge of the area, but McGavock was unable to get enough power on the header.

Five minutes into the second half, Bulli attempted to surprise University with an early goal in the half, but Valentina Siskoska couldn’t get her long-range effort on target as it went wide.

Eventually, in the 60th minute, University made their attacks count when Morrell found Sophie Boyd with a pass to the edge of the box.

Boyd faked a shot and took it around the centre back, where she released her shot to the left side of the goal; the keeper couldn’t reach in time.

Seven minutes later, Morrell again used her creativity to produce a chance for her side, this time for Jenna Munro, who was free in the centre of the box.

Morrell fed it to the forward, who first time, struck the ball with power and precision and hit it into the inside of the post to make it 2-0 to the visitors.

University, with all its momentum, sought another; Boyd passed it into Bulli’s box, where Makayla Wheatley collected the ball and slipped it to Munro.

She took a shot from close range, but it deflected off a defender and trickled to the back post, where Morrell smashed in the rebound.

3-0 in the 77th minute.

Bulli were determined all game to get a result against their strong opponent, University, and even though they were down by three, they still attempted to get a goal.

In the dying embers, Tatum Etherden held up the ball for Bulli, where she laid it off to Camille Augustyn, who lobbed the ball over the Wollongong keeper to put her side on the scorecard.

3-1 to the away side.

Bulli travel away to JJ Kelly Park to take on Coniston. Bulli should try to replicate their performance if they are determined to make an upset against their next opponent.

As for University, they now face the opposite side of the table, which is league leaders, Shellharbour City.

It will be a thrilling fixture between the two top sides.
