Referee Level 4 Courses in 2025
Course Requirements
All new referees must:
- Register on Playfootball – Enroll in the “New Level 4 Referee Package” (Cost: $150) to register as a new referee and access the practical “Flags and Whistles” session. Note: Registration on Playfootball is required before completing any online modules on Etrainu.
- Course 1 – Wednesday January 29th – FULL
- Course 2 – Tuesday February 4th -Ian McLennan Park, Kembla Grange – FULL
- Course 3 – Tuesday February 18th – Ian McLennan Park, Kembla Grange – FULL
- Course 4 – Team Referee and Community League Course – Tuesday March 4th – Judy Masters Oval, Balgownie – CLICK HERE – Please note this course is for Over 18 ONLY!

- Complete Online Modules on Etrainu
- Find a FSC Referee course on Etrainu > Search FNSW – Football South Coast – Enrol into your selected day.
- Complete the free “Laws of the Game” modules via Etrainu.
- Fulfill the Level 4 Theory (Community Junior Football Match Officials course) via Etrainu. (Cost: $33).
- Start the Level 4 Theory Course
- Attend the Practical “Flags and Whistle” Session – This in-person session is a requirement for final qualification as a referee.
- Minimum Age: 13 years (by 15th January 2025)
Email Confirmation: Please confirm online course completion at referees@footballsouthcoast.com before the practical session.
Practical Course Details
- Attire: Wear comfortable clothing; boots are not required. Sessions proceed indoors in wet weather.
- Equipment Provided: All new referees will receive flags, cards, and whistles for the practical course.
- Further Details: Additional information regarding practical session dates and times will be provided soon.
Uniform Details & Size Guide
All new Level 4 referees will receive a Legea referee uniform (shirt, shorts, and socks) at the practical session.
- Shirt/Shorts Sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL (Note: Sizes run small; sizing up is recommended)
- Socks Sizes:
- Size 1: Kids’ shoe size 9-1
- Size 2: Men’s shoe size 2-8
- Size 3: Men’s shoe size 7-12
