Female Football Week Spotlight: Steph Witt – Berkeley Sports FC
As part of Female Football Week, Football South Coast is proud to recognise the incredible individuals helping drive the growth of the women’s game across our region.
Steph Witt from Berkeley Sports FC has been nominated for Volunteer Recognition, and her impact on female football at the club has been nothing short of outstanding.
Steph has been involved with the club for the past three years (in addition to her time as a player), and in that time has become a key figure in the development and success of women’s football at Berkeley.
Steph currently holds multiple roles within the club, including Women’s Coordinator, AA2 Women’s Team Manager, and Under 14 Girls Coach. Her passion and dedication are evident in everything she does, supporting players across all levels of the game.
Following a health scare that forced her to stop playing, Steph immediately turned her focus to giving back to the game. She stepped into a team manager role without hesitation and quickly made a significant impact — raising standards, promoting positive values, and building strong relationships with players. Her efforts have helped create a positive and connected team environment, both on and off the field.
Beyond her work with the senior team, Steph has played a leading role in growing the female pathway at Berkeley. She has helped establish clear progression opportunities for junior girls into senior football, while also contributing to the growth of junior female participation across the club.
Her commitment has helped transform female football at Berkeley Sports FC — from limited numbers to a strong and growing program, with multiple junior teams and two established senior women’s sides.
Steph’s dedication was recognised at the club’s 2025 End of Season Awards, where she received the Outstanding Achievement Award — a well-deserved honour.
Steph continues to be an inspiration to those around her, giving her time and energy to ensure every female player feels supported, valued, and encouraged in their football journey.
