Keith Bond Oval played host to a fiery match between the Blueys and the Falcons as neither side was able to break the deadlock in a match that concluded 0-0.
The tempo was set in the opening minutes with Sam Munro cautioned for a late hit on Matias Toro.
The first 15 minutes of the match was a back-and-forth contest as neither side challenged the opposition. Tarrawanna held a little more field position yet were not able to bring anything out of it.
In the 18th minute Oak Flats were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. Tomoya Komazaki struck the ball but it hit the Blueys wall before rolling out for a corner. The corner was taken and the ball was only half cleared. It fell to Komazaki who played a through ball to Joshua Eagleton, darting into the left side of the box. He opened his body up and fired at the bottom right corner forcing Kaydin Harrison to get low as he tipped the ball around the post.
A few minutes later, the ball appeared to be running out as Darren Stone tried to shield it. The ball slowed down as Nicholas Gelle bursts down the sideline, wrapped around and took the ball from the veteran. He darted along the byline before squaring the ball into the box. Eagleton let it run as Jamie Wakeling fired a shot but he could not manage to hit the target.
The Falcons took control of the game for the next few minutes before Bluey Cameron Morgan played a cross from the right to Mitchell Brooker who fired a header across the face of the goal and wide.
In the 34th minute Toro crossed in a ball from a set piece on the right sideline which met Morgan in the air. He flicked the ball on and past the far post as another Tarrawanna crossing chance goes to waste.
A few crossing opportunities from both sides close out the half as neither team is able to break the deadlock going into the sheds.
Just five minutes after the break Morgan played a through ball down the left to Brooker who cut in on his right and with an open body aimed for the bottom right corner. Luke Genua parried the ball but it fell to Robert Delbanco who was charging into the six-yard box. Delbanco fired the ball on goal but Komazaki slid across and blocked the ball as the crowd were ready for the net to bulge.
From the corner Genua is called upon again as the ball fell out of the box to Brooker who struck the ball forcing Genua to jump and tip the ball over the bar.
Both frontlines wasted attacking chances as neither keeper is truly tested until the 75th minute. Brooker brought down a floating long ball with his chest and squared the ball to the penalty spot as Jayden Nikolovski met the ball and tried to place it along the floor, Genua hit the deck and saved the ball with his feet before the ball was tapped out for a corner.
The match concludes 0-0 as Tarrawanna constantly fire the ball into the box with the Falcons hanging on.
Another week of missed chances for the Blueys comes to cost them as yet another match that could have seen them walk away with the three points goes begging.
